The Photographer's Loft received an AIA NY Design Honor Award at the annual Design Awards Luncheon at Cipriani Wall Street. The project will be on display at the Center for Architecture NYC from April 24 - June 22, 2015.
Surface Innovation: Redefining Boundaries of Interior & Exterior Spaces is a multi-media exhibit presenting new concepts for Dekton by Desai Chia and 5 other New York architecture firms. Sponsored by the AIA and Cosentino.
Desai Chia Architecture and seven other firms have been selected to develop a state-of-the-art, flood-resistant recreation learning center at the Sherman Creek site in Inwood, NY, which was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy last year. The competition is sponsored by the New York Restoration Project & led by Bette Midler.
"Luminous Depths," a collaboration with artist Lee Mingwei at the Peranakan Museum in Singapore, opened on June 20th and will be on display through September 2013. The diaphanous installation engages every story of the museum, filtering light down from the skylit atrium.
Susanna Sirefman of the Wall Street Journal writes: "Though the 2,000-square-foot, one-story dwelling, located on the clients' working farm, is meticulously detailed, its layout is uncomplicated... When you finally spy the house, it appears as a graceful box hovering over the landscape."

Desai Chia's new Surface Series and other partnering AF New York collections were awarded the ICFF Editor's Award at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in NYC. The Surface Series-- an innovative sink, tub and storage system-- made its debut at ICFF this year.
The Recess Lav has been selected as a finalist for the D&AD Award (U.K.) for the best product designs of 2010.
Interior Design announced its Best of Year award winners in the theater of the New York Times HQ. Desai Chia won and award for the Madison Square project.
The Porthole Loft is featured in an article by NY Times writer Fred Bernstein. In the article, the clients describe their loft as having a “unique architectural feature that glows like a lantern in the evening. It definitely draws oohs and aahs from our visitors.”
Cooper Square received an American Architecture Award. The project will be exhibited at the Herman Miller Gallery in LA and NYC to showcase the best American architecture in 2005.
