The Van Alen Institute named Kathy Chia a co-chair of the Van Alen Leadership Council. The Van Alen institute believes that design can transform cities, landscapes, and regions to improve people’s lives. The Institute collaborates with communities, scholars, policymakers, and professionals on local and global initiatives.

The AIA New York State Design Awards jury has selected the Photographer's Loft for an Honor Award. The project will be recognized & exhibited at the AIA New York State 2016 Design Conference in Saratoga Springs in September.
The annual Residential Review showcases the best work in residential interiors projects by New York City architects. Ten winners including Desai Chia Architecture were selected, and their work will be on display in the gallery space GD Cucine from June 14 - July 2.

The Photographer's Loft was selected as one of the best American architecture projects in 2015. This is Desai Chia's 4th American Architecture Award. Awarded projects will be exhibited at the 3rd Chicago Architecture Biennial and then to other museums in Europe.
