The LM Guest House received a Best of Year Award in the residential category. Cindy Allen, the Editor-in-Chief of Interior Design, announced all of the award winners at a gala event at the IAC Building in New York.

This year's Buenos Aires Design Biennial features works by AIA award-winning architects including Desai Chia's LM Guest House.
Desai Chia Architecture and seven other firms have been selected to develop a state-of-the-art, flood-resistant recreation learning center at the Sherman Creek site in Inwood, NY, which was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy last year. The competition is sponsored by the New York Restoration Project & led by Bette Midler.
The World Architecture Festival has shortlisted the LM Guest House for a prize in the “Villa” Category (house in a landscape environment.) Eight projects are under consideration for this annual international award. The grand award winner will be announced on October 4th at the World Architecture Festival event in Singapore.
Dwell Asia's July/August feature of the LM Guest House calls the project "brilliant."
"Luminous Depths," a collaboration with artist Lee Mingwei at the Peranakan Museum in Singapore, opened on June 20th and will be on display through September 2013. The diaphanous installation engages every story of the museum, filtering light down from the skylit atrium.
The Society of American Registered Architects SARA NY Gold Award of Excellence was given to the LM Guest House in the Housing & Sustainability Category. Katherine Chia accepted the award at the Design Awards Dinner on June 25th.
Susanna Sirefman of the Wall Street Journal writes: "Though the 2,000-square-foot, one-story dwelling, located on the clients' working farm, is meticulously detailed, its layout is uncomplicated... When you finally spy the house, it appears as a graceful box hovering over the landscape."
